Worlds Day 2 Report

Light winds meant our fleet (blue) only had one race today.

We were 10th which moved us up to 19th out of 53. We didn’t have a great acceleration so we tacked twice to reestablish a lane, but then we made a tactical mistake and had to do the same again… fortunately we managed to hook into a right shift and claw back into the race. We played our downwinds much better today to solidify a top ten position in the race.

Tomorrow is a big day since it’s the last day of the qualifying round (the top 20 advance to Gold Fleet) and we’ve only had 3 races so far but we could do a total of 4 more tomorrow. Our fleet will probably go out first to do a race in order to match the number of races that the other fleet has. Then we could do three more races to round out the qualifying round.

Above is a photo from day 1 of us on starboard with Canadians Erin and Danielle on port, and a massive cruise ship in the background.

Time to rest up…
but first…
the America’s Cup!!!
